Town House Monnickendam: A Blend of Modern Design and Historical Charm

Nestled in Monnickendam, The Netherlands, Town House Monnickendam is a minimalist gem designed by DAB Studio. This thoughtful renovation merges contemporary design with the home's rich history, with particular emphasis on the kitchen. The custom-designed space prioritizes aesthetics, creating fluidity with gentle curves and hand-formed Portuguese tiles.

The kitchen features a cohesive look with a brass plinth, matching worktop, and a faucet from Quooker. The harmonious design is enhanced with warm tones, wooden accents, and carefully chosen art pieces, ensuring the home remains both open and intimate.

A unique blend of old and new defines the design, with a black-painted floor restored to reveal its original beauty. Curved elements flow naturally throughout, such as a sculptural island countertop and classic Dutch-inspired tiles, adding character while maintaining functionality. The resulting space balances spaciousness with cozy, inviting warmth, all while maintaining a deep connection to the house’s past.
